The Mozilla Foundation released Firefox 3 yesterday. Its been a long journey for v3 with several beta’s and release candidates being released over the last few months.
I tried out the early beta’s and even then it looked quite promising. I’ve migrated to Firefox 3 the moment it was released. Unfortunately, I’ve got several plugins which are not yet ready for Firefox 3. I guess I’ll have to wait till they introduce support for the new version.
The Firefox team always wanted to create a new Guiness World Record in the area of “most software downloaded in 24 hours”. Since this is a new area in itself, I guess even if 1 copy is downloaded, the record is created!! Jokes aside, I’m sure that several million downloads will be accomplished in the 24hr period, which is not yet over while writing this article.
